Turkey Day Tips from your Downtown San Antonio Apartments

  |     |   Uncategorized

It’s time to start thinking about Thanksgiving, residents! If you’ve been tasked with making a meal for a group of family and friends, you might want to pay attention to this latest blog from your downtown San Antonio apartments. In it, we’ll be telling residents about three of our favorite Thanksgiving Day recipes.

We wanted to keep things relatively simple while still providing residents with crowd-pleasing recipes. With that in mind, we kept things fairly traditional. Let’s take a look at the list of recipes, shall we? Oh, and when you’re done reading through the post below, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends. Better yet, go ahead and share it with your neighbors at Southtown Flats — the apartments downtown San Antonio residents choose for contemporary comfort

Simple Sweet Potato Casserole

Before you get started, head to the store and grab these ingredients:

  • Butter

  • Sweet Potatoes

  • Milk

  • Brown Sugar

  • Vanilla Extract

  • Eggs

  • Pecans

  • Flour

The first recipe on our list is ideal for those of you who are less-than-confident in your cooking skills. Even the most novice chef will have a hard time screwing up this recipe. The most challenging part of the recipe is probably the mashing of the sweet potatoes, but that’s really more about physical strength than cooking expertise. If you want to make something simple for Thanksgiving dinner, give this recipe a shot!

Sausage and Herb Stuffing

  • Bread Cubes

  • Butter

  • Yellow Onion

  • Celery

  • Apples

  • Parsley

  • Salt & Pepper

  • Italian Sausage

  • Chicken Stock

  • Cranberries

Stuffing is the best, and it’s a shame that we only get to enjoy it once a year at Thanksgiving. If you’re going to make a stuffing dish, you might as well make the most of it. We recommend buying high-quality Italian sausage from a meat market and investing in fresh fruits and vegetables from a farmer’s market. The right ingredients make all the difference!

Four-Flavor Sheet Pie

Before you get started, head to the store and grab these ingredients:

  • Rolled Pie Crust

  • Flour

  • Egg

  • Turbinado Sugar

  • Lemon Juice

  • Butter

  • Flour

  • Cinnamon

  • Sour Cherries

  • Cornstarch

  • Pumpkin Puree

  • Pumpkin Pie Spice

  • Egg

  • Brown Sugar

  • Roasted Pecans

  • Vanilla Extract

Looking at the ingredients list, this recipe seems to be telling you to make some kind of of Frankenstein pie made of all the best parts of different pies. That’s actually not the case. This recipe is, in fact, for a sheet-pie divided into four sections. Each section is a different kind of pie, which means you’ll be able to please every taste bud with just one recipe. Plus, the final product will look good on Instagram.

Those are all the Thanksgiving recipes we’ve got to share with you this week, residents! We’ll be back in a couple weeks with another brand new post, however, so be on the lookout for those!
