If you’re like a lot of residents of our downtown San Antonio apartments, your refrigerator is probably filled with leftover food from Thanksgiving. It’s a good time of year if you love stuffing, turkey and cranberries. If you don’t, it’s a good time to go out to eat. This is especially true for sports fans, who get to enjoy NFL games, NBA games and late-season college football every weekend.
While we love our apartments and think they’re as comfortable as any apartments in San Antonio, we understand that nothing beats watching your favorite team at your favorite sports bar. That’s why we’ve decided to write this week’s blog about some of the best chicken wing spots in San Antonio. After all, what pairs better than chicken wings and football?
Without further ado, let’s dive right into this week’s blog post! Oh, and when you’re done reading through it, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at Southtown Flats — the downtown apartments San Antonio residents choose for luxury living in the heart of the city.
The first spot on our list doesn’t look like much, but sometimes the hole-in-the-wall restaurants produce the best food. That’s certainly the case at Wayne’s Wings — a restaurant that claims to have the “best wings in Texas” according to the sign hanging above its front door. Once you step inside Wayne’s Wings, you’ll notice that it’s got numerous awards hanging on the walls celebrating the fact that many people do, in fact, consider Wayne’s Wings to be the best in Texas. Get a basket, have a napkin ready and dig in! Oh, and be sure to grab some of the parmesan fries while you’re at it.
There are good chicken wing spots, and then there’s Anchor Bar. This place is simply a step above when it comes to top-notch chicken wings. The wings at Anchor Bar are super crispy, dripping in sauce and filled with enough meat to fill you up off just 8 wings. Anchor Bar is also one of the bigger restaurants on this list, making it perfect for a game day meal.
Have you ever heard of raspberry chipotle wings? If not, we recommend that you head straight to Deco Pizzeria ASAP. They’ve also got other traditional wing flavors, but we love the unique flavor of the aforementioned wings. These aren’t the biggest chicken wings in town, but the meat-to-bone ratio and taste bud-popping flavors make up for the size.
We’re all out of chicken wing hot spots to share with you this week, but we’ll be back in December with two more brand new blogs for our residents!
